From time to time, I will drop by bookstore or magazine stand to check out the latest Photography Magazine. Recently I found this book which have EVERYTHING a beginner need to know! From planning which camera to buy until the end process of the photo.
First, what camera to get!
This magazine explained everything! Not only about DSLR, it explain about compact and prosumer camera as well...
Most Photography Magazine only have reviews about the latest camera model, but I don't that beginners will understand well...
Not only it explain about the type of camera, this magazine also explain a bit about the brand of the camera. Canon, Nikon, Sony, Samsung and Pentax.
At the side of almost every page have a small tips, this is 1 of my favorite tips...
"Remember the main factor that makes a decent photo is the photographer" Its not only about the camera...
Photographic Theory!
It explain almost everything about the theory, if you get the latest issue of any photography magazine, it may have 1, at most 2 theory... However those 1 or 2 theory sometimes is too deep for a beginner to understand.
How they make their shot!
Most Photography Magazine have this part, however I still like the way they explain how they did it. They point out all the mistake made in the selected photo and how to improve it.
The part I like the most is they didn't use expensive or lots of others gadget to help them in their photo. Just a camera, then a bit of the setting, no need any expensive flash or tripod or even filters.

They did show a number of nice and stunning photos.
I think this is a compulsory for any Photography Magazine.
This is more than a Manual Guide Book
As mention earlier, this magazine explain almost EVERYTHING. Cleaning and maintenance for camera is quite important. This magazine do teach step by step on how to clean and how to take good care of your own camera! It is a compulsory knowledge for every camera user!
The PC part.
Most of us will think photography is about the camera only, so until the cleaning and take caring of the camera part is a bonus part. You're wrong! Its not the end yet!
Modern photography is all digitalize! Photography is no longer about the camera and how to snap the photo with the correct setting, it include your PC and how to edit it.
Editing your photos
Ofcause the editing part, most photography will give some photoshop tutorial or other photo editing software, this magazine do have tutorials about editing the photos!
My favorite part is they did it step by step, easy for beginners to understand!
OK! So they teach how which camera to buy, they teach the theory about photography, they teach how to get the correct/nice photo, they teach how to setup the pc and how to edit the photos. That's about the end, right? The answer is... Nope!
This Magazine go way beyond that!
It introduce ways to backup/save your precious photos!
I never though that a photography magazine will teach how to backup/save your photos!
This may be a basic knowledge to you, but for some beginners is a new thing!
Finally, the part that I never ever expect them to teach...
How to share you photos!
2ways! Either the old style or the modern style, or both!
Print it out then keep in a photo album, or upload it to the internet and share with friends and family or even strangers.
It teach everything from A-Z, from getting a camera until printing/uploading the photos!!!
That's the reason I say this magazine is such a good photography magazine, especially for beginner photographer or those who wanna take photography as a serious hobby.
Its not really that expensive for it is about Rm20, better than you buy a bunch of cheap photography magazine yet don't understand a single thing in that magazine.
Personally, I got quite a number of Photography Magazine, but if this Magazine came out few years earlier, I would improve much faster than I slowly explore it myself...
